AMCA Oregon Trail Chapter NEWSLETTER

​ An absolutely fantastic day for a vintage motorbike show and swap meet!!  The Oregon Vintage Motorcyclists (OVM) celebrated their 46th annual motorcycle show and swap meet this year at the Polk County Fairgrounds. A nice venue for all the folks to hang around and swap moto parts and check out a plethora of neat vintage motos. This year the OVM salutes the smaller 250cc and less size of motorbikes and there was no shortage of lots to see!!  The swap area lined the perimeter of the yard and there was a little bit of good stuff for everyone!!  There were also lots of nice folks and friends in attendance so it was nice to catch up with everyone. After a few hours it was time to say our goodbyes and hit the road back home. Hopefully you had a chance to make it, but if not, no worries, it’ll happen again next year!!!  (more photos below) Next OVM moto event will be Sunday August 2nd: ride in moto show and summer picnic at Oaks Amusement Park (Portland). ​ This year’s 1 Moto show (May 1-3) was again held at the Zidell building located on the south waterfront. As usual, the show was fantastic and HUGE!!!  Lots of bikes of all kinds were present along with all the folks who owned and or built them. I even got invited to show my 1933 HD VLD with our friends OVM (Oregon Vintage Motorcyclists) which was a neat experience as I rode the bike in and out. With 3 whole days to attend it’s hard to take in all of the excitement, the people, and plethora of motorbikes but it’s fun to try!!  It just seems one never truly sees everything there, but that just keeps us going back for more!!  Hope everyone got a chance to attend this annual event and if you missed it, no worries, there’s always next year!!
