President’s Letter October
Happy October
We’ve had quite a few activities this year so far, with the highlight being our national Trees to Seas road run in Cottage Grove. We had over 100 riders registered, and a recent survey verified it was resounding success. We had riders from all over the country, both coasts and as far away as the Carolinas. In addition, we’ve had a few events with other groups like the OVM and Tenino swap. We’ve squeezed in a couple of rides in Bend and John Day, and Tim was in the coast to coast Motorcycle Trans Am. We try to put together events every month, around the state, so everyone can participate. As always, we encourage you to chime in if you have an event or a ride suggestion. In the past, we’ve also done garage crawls, and that relies on you, our various members, to host some of those. When we publish our newsletter, we are always looking for stories and articles about our own members. We enjoy reading about the processes and the trials and tribulations of your restorations, rides, or trips. It is interesting encouraging so shoot us a note, and tell us your story.

A couple of business notes; for those of you that check out our website, you’ll notice that we have a new a blog page. Several chapters have gone to this. It basically allows us to upload information on events and any other news as it becomes available. Dan is our contact, and will post the information as it comes in. Check it out. That’s where you’ll find our current newsletter information, or other updates. If you have an article that you’d like to submit, forward it to Dan podthewelder@gmail.com and he will be happy to post it. For those without Internet or email, we will continue to provide a limited newsletter in paper form.

As we head into October, it’s that time of year for elections. Shortly, we will be sending ballot information out with instructions for voting in the officers for the new year. You’ll receive an email or a letter in the post with names and instructions. Pls send responses by Nov. 7. Last, as we close the year, remember dues are due the 1st of the new year

We still have a few more events for the remaining year, Kelly’s Olympian for lunch is coming up in Portland Oct 25th. We have a help day for the Northwest Motorcycle and Auto museum in Brooks, Oregon in November 29, and our annual holiday lunch Dec 13 at Tim's shop in Cottage Grove. We’re starting to make plans for a rally this summer in late July in Rainbow, we will provide more information as it becomes available

As always ride safe and happy holidays,
James McQuiston
Pres OTC AMCA
