Looking for and sharing information.

One of the many reasons why being a member of an antique or vintage motorcycle club (such as Oregon Vintage Motorcyclists, AMCA, VME, Norton Owners Club, etc.) is having a plethora of knowledgable members/friends who are there for you for numerous invaluable reasons such as a fun moto ride, garage hang, and for helping with our antique/vintage moto projects. In this case, neat friend Mighty Mike from “The Mighty Garage” https://youtube.com/@themightygarage?si=MyTD_eisa2jOuqUa

recently contacted me about information on an interesting looking old moto fuel tank.

Well with my knowledge that is limited to old Triumphs and Harley-Davidsons and Mikes extensive knowledge in British bikes we were both seemingly stumped. 🤔 Now we both wanted to know!

Well, turns out that with more digging with other friends the mystery tank has been identified!! It is in deed from a Marman Motorcycle (or motorized bicycle)!!

Never in a million years would I have ever guessed or heard of a Marman!!! Turns out that this bike was produced in 1948 and 1949 in Inglewood California by Marian Products powered by a Drone Engine from WWII sitting in a Schwinn MP47 bicycle frame. How neat is that?!? Mystery solved!!

Thanx Mike for your “Mighty” detective work!!

Your Pal, -Pod-
